In case you haven't figured it out yet, I am REALLY excited about this one! Besides being one of the most well respected and knowledgeable quilters on the planet, Harriet is also a great gal! And it doesn't matter what your skill level is - you will definitely come away from this workshop armed with a whole new arsenal of tips and information to improve your projects and enhance your quilt-making experiences. Check out her website: http://www.harriethargrave.com/default.asp
Monday evening we will host a dessert bar beginning at 7 pm. While we sit around satisfying our collective sweet tooth, Harriet will share some of her quilts with us and enlighten us with things we all need and want to know about batting, threads, needles, etc. You know... all that stuff that we just seem to bluff our way through. And since this will be a small group, it's the perfect time for a question and answer period and your chance to ask an expert about things that have puzzled you up to now. In fact, you might want to bring a notepad and pencil for this session.
Then on Tuesday and Wednesday, she will lead us through a project from one of her new books, Quilter's Academy Vol. 1. The project is called Town Square and incorporates 4-patches with an Irish Chain effect. In addition to showing us how to line up and accurately cut strips, she will also show us how to effectively chain sew and end up with everything in perfect alignment. And we'll learn the process of putting the components of a quilt together "the right way" which will not only make your quilt-making experience more accurate but also more fun and less stressful.
In addition to the dessert bar on Monday evening, we will provide breakfast and lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday and the costs for these meals are included in the $125 total fee for this workshop event.
We are definitely limiting the attendance to 20 for this one so please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in getting on the list. Even if you aren't in a position to pay right now, at least let us know you want to have your name written down to hold your spot. Then as paid attendees come in we will let you know that we are closing in on the "cutoff". After 20 paid attendees, we will accept names for a waiting list.
This is going to be an amazing 2-1/2 days. Just think - a retreat/seminar with Harriet Hargrave and right here, in our own backyard! How cool is that?!?!?!
